Stamp duty: establishment of a death certificate is exempt from stamp duty

In the case of a refusal to draw up a death certificate, which is issued in the form of a decision, the party may appeal to the Silesian Province Governor in Katowice within 14 days from the delivery of the decision to the party. The appeal is exempt from stamp duty and shall be filed through the Head of the Registry Office in Żory.

The death must be reported to the civil registry office of the place of the event at the latest within 3 days from the date of issue of the death certificate. If the death was caused by an infectious disease, the declaration must be made within 24 hours of the death. The following persons, in order of priority, are obliged to report the death : - the spouse or children of the deceased, - the closest relatives or relations, - people living in the premises where the death occurred
